Regensburg

Regensburg is ancient - its history goes back to the Stone Age, and its medieval town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's old Celtic name is Radasbona, which is why it is historically known to English speakers as Ratisbon. This now small city was, between 530 and the first part of the 13th century the capital of Bavaria.
